Adrian Beschi Freestyler Footballer FC Marina Football Academy Founder Chennai Marine Engineer AMET University

FC Marina was started to Redefine the Football Ecosystem in India

Where the Journey Began….

Adrian Beschi’s journey in football began long before FC Marina — on the school grounds of St. Patrick’s Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School, Adyar, Chennai, where football became an integral part of his growing years.

As a student, he represented the school football team and went on to captain the team, leading them to success at the State Level RDS and BDS football competitions. His performances also earned him the opportunity to represent his school at the prestigious Subroto Mukerjee International Football Tournament, one of the highest levels of competition in the school football circuit.

Those early years taught him much more than the game itself. Wearing the school jersey, leading his teammates and competing against some of the best young footballers shaped his understanding of leadership, teamwork, discipline and the responsibility that comes with representing something bigger than oneself.

His passion for football continued into his university years at AMET University, Chennai, where he pursued a B.E. in Marine Engineering. Even while preparing for a career at sea, football remained an inseparable part of his life. He represented the university football team and eventually became its Captain, continuing the leadership journey that had begun at school.

Alongside competitive football, Adrian developed a passion for Freestyle Football, a discipline that allowed him to explore the technical and creative side of the game. During his school years, he won the South India Red Bull Street Style Championship, further establishing himself as a technically gifted and versatile footballer.

From Player to Coach

As Adrian’s understanding of football matured, he realised that his connection with the game could extend beyond being a player.

Before embarking on the journey of building a football academy, he travelled to Bangalore to pursue his AIFF coaching licence at FSV Arena, taking the important step from player to qualified coach.

This transition became a defining moment.

His years as a player gave him an understanding of the game from inside the pitch. His experience as a captain taught him leadership. Freestyle football developed his technical creativity. And his coaching education gave him the knowledge to teach, develop and guide the next generation of players.

Together, these experiences became the foundation on which FC Marina was eventually built.

From Teammates to a Football Community

One of the most valuable assets Adrian carried into FC Marina was not simply his playing experience — it was the community he had built throughout his football journey.

The players, coaches, captains and football professionals he had met through school football, university football, competitive tournaments, freestyle football and coaching became part of a wider football fraternity around him.

When FC Marina began with its first facility, Adrian was able to bring together many of these peers and professionals from the football community, creating a network of people who shared the same passion for the game.

What began with one football facility gradually grew into multiple facilities, academy programmes and a wider football ecosystem.

In many ways, FC Marina was not built by one person alone. It was built on years of friendships, football relationships, shared experiences and a collective belief in the possibilities of the game.

That is what makes Adrian’s journey particularly meaningful — the dream that began on a school football ground eventually became a platform that brought together many of the people he had met along the way.

⚽From a school captain to a university captain.
⚽From a footballer to a freestyle football champion.
⚽From a player to an AIFF Licensed Coach.
⚽And from a group of footballing peers to the beginnings of FC Marina.

The journey was always about football — but ultimately, it was about bringing people together through the game they loved.

The Origins of FC Marina

Adrian Beschi B.E. (Marine Engineering) Founder of FC Marina

About – FC Marina

From a Passion for Football to a Platform for Players

FC Marina was founded in 2019 by Adrian Beschi, a National-Level Football Player, Freestyle Footballer, University Football Team Captain, AIFF Licensed Coach and Marine Engineer, with a vision to create better opportunities for football players and aspiring athletes.

Adrian’s association with football began at the age of five. What started as a childhood passion at St.Patricks School, Adyar, Chennai developed into a competitive football career, leading him to represent at various levels, including the National Level, captain his University Football Team and develop a strong technical foundation as a footballer and freestyle player.

Alongside football, Adrian pursued a professional career as a Marine Engineer and worked with Maersk Tankers. After gaining experience in the maritime industry, he made the defining decision to leave his sea-going career and dedicate himself to football and sports entrepreneurship.

That decision led to the creation of FC Marina.

Building Football Facilities in Chennai

FC Marina was established with the vision of creating professionally developed football facilities where players could play, train, develop and pursue their passion for the game.

As Founder and Managing Director, Adrian was instrumental in establishing and developing a network of football facilities across Chennai. The journey began with the first facility in Madipakkam (5-aside), followed by facilities at Nolambur (7-aside), Perumbakkam (8-aside), Gerugambakkam (7-aside), Thiruvanmiyur (Indoor 5-aside), Kilpauk (6-aside), Ramapuram (7-aside) in partnership with Sports Sanity, Pallikaranai and Thalambur, including a 9-a-side football facility.

Through this journey, FC Marina developed extensive practical experience in football facility development, artificial turf, sports layouts, facility operations and football infrastructure.

Bringing International Turf Expertise to Football Infrastructure

Adrian’s background as a Marine Engineer and his professional experience with Maersk Tankers also played an important role in the development of FC Marina’s infrastructure capabilities.

His understanding of international shipping, maritime logistics, sourcing and movement of goods across international markets proved valuable when exploring high-quality artificial turf solutions for football facilities.

He was instrumental in establishing the import of artificial football turf from Vietnam, bringing international turf products and sourcing capabilities into the football infrastructure ecosystem.

This experience gave Adrian first-hand exposure to the complete process of international sports product sourcing — from identifying suitable turf systems and working with overseas suppliers to understanding shipping, logistics, import processes and delivery for sports facility projects in India.

It became an important part of his early experience in the sports infrastructure sector and subsequently contributed to his broader understanding of turnkey sports facility development.

Developing Players Beyond the Pitch

FC Marina was created to be more than just a football facility.

Understanding that access to a good playing surface is only one part of a player’s development, Adrian launched the FC Marina Football Academy to provide structured football coaching and player development opportunities.

The academy also worked with turf owners and facility operators to introduce after-school football coaching programmes, helping bridge the gap between recreational football facilities and structured football development.

The philosophy has always been simple:

Give players a place to play. Give them the opportunity to learn. Give them the confidence to believe in their potential.

The Lighthouse – A Symbol of Hope

The FC Marina lighthouse is an important part of the identity and philosophy of the organisation.

A lighthouse represents guidance, direction and hope — a light that helps people find their way even when the path ahead is uncertain.

For FC Marina, the lighthouse represents the dreams and aspirations of every player who walks onto the pitch. It symbolises the role of football in providing direction, discipline, confidence and opportunity to young players pursuing their ambitions.

Every player may have a different destination, but FC Marina strives to be a guiding light along that journey.

The lighthouse is therefore more than a logo. It represents hope for every player who dreams of going further in football.

A New Chapter in Sports Infrastructure

As Adrian’s experience in football facilities and sports development grew, his professional journey naturally expanded into the wider sports infrastructure sector.

In January 2024, following a professional separation from the FC Marina business and a transition away from its active day-to-day management, Adrian began a new independent chapter by establishing BESCHI SPORTS & INFRA.

Building upon years of experience in football facilities, artificial turf, international turf sourcing, sports layouts, facility operations and turnkey projects, the venture expanded its focus beyond football into the broader sports infrastructure industry.

BESCHI SPORTS & INFRA subsequently evolved into BESCHI CORPORATION PRIVATE LIMITED, specialising in the planning, design, development and turnkey execution of sports infrastructure projects across India.

Adrian continues to retain a 50% ownership interest in the FC Marina facilities, while his current professional focus is dedicated to the growth of BESCHI CORPORATION PRIVATE LIMITED.

From FC Marina to BESCHI

FC Marina was the beginning of Adrian’s journey as a sports entrepreneur. BESCHI represents the next chapter of that journey.

The same passion that took him from the football pitch, through a career at sea, and back into football entrepreneurship now drives a broader vision — to contribute to the development of better sports infrastructure across India.
